A Concierge, or Guest Services Representative, is a hospitality professional who attends to the needs of guests and helps them organize their accommodations while staying at a hotel or other building that provides lodging services. Their duties include making reservations, recommending restaurants, bars and clubs to guests and arranging errands such as grocery delivery and dry cleaning services. Concierges generally work at hotels and resorts but can also be employed at upscale office buildings and apartment complexes to serve as a Receptionist and assistant to guests. Concierges are responsible for connecting guests with the information they are looking for, setting up schedules and providing convenient service so that they can relax and enjoy their vacation or focus on business during a trip.
